Well, the famous AMD vs. Intel question lol. As much as I would love to say AMD is leading the technology on processors(cough cough.. AMD fan). As of right now Intel has the best processesor, but is expected to change once AMD releases their next chip. As for the 32-bit and 64-bit question. There will be compatibility issues with different programs, which ones you have to find out the hard way or google information on using them on 64-bit versions of windows. Basically 64-bit was created with the "gamer" in mind, unless your using your computer for high end work, there is no need for it. 32-bit versions will support practically all software and hardware alike. For example, with a 32-bit version of windows running 4gigs of RAM, you will not register all 4gigs, the amount that doesn't register will be wasted. 32-bit only will run under 4gigs RAM. If you had a 64-bit OS it will run 4+ gigs of RAM and be able to use it all. Another problem you may come across is that your computer may not have drivers for a 64-bit version of windows. You will have to search the makers website to see if the drivers are available, without them there is no point in thinking about 64-bit. If your just doing normal things with you PC then 32-bit is the way to go, gamers a lot of times put 64-bit on high end gaming machines, but a lot of times have a 32-bit OS on a different HD partition or have another PC that they use. It all depends on what you wish to do with your machine. Rather or not paltalk runs on 64-bit i don't know, but i would assume it would.
Easy way to tell what suites you best:
You want a 32-bit OS if:
1. You are running less than 4 gigs RAM(4gigs on a 32-bit OS will register anywhere from 3.2gigs to 3.8gigs)
2. Want it to be a multipurpose machine that handles all your needs, including gaming
3. Be compatible with practically all Windows Software
4. Be compatible with all Windows Hardware
64-bit OS if:
1. 4gigs or more RAM (you can't get a laptop with 32-bit that supports all 4gigs, they do however try to sell them)
2. Are planning on using the machine for high end things such as gaming, high end software design etc.. etc..
3. This is the gamers choice of OS and does not support all the software available for Windows OS's.
