Pal Locator Idea

Postby frazzledog » Mon Aug 15, 2005 3:08 pm

How difficult would it be to create a pal locator that loops through all rooms and extracts the usernames of people logged in to see if they match the given name. I realize it would take forever if you tried to loop through every category but most of the time I would imagine that there is just a subset that people are interested in. I would also imagine it not being too hard to exclude rooms under a certain size.

I am mediocre at VB but I would take a pass at it unless somebody can explain what the obstacles are.

All these can be done if we know about structure of paltalk database !! That way many things can be done by using proper SQL queries . Ofcourse public users should have the right permession to run SELECT queries against some tables for example tables that contain information about which room user currently is in !
