Possible paltalk booter like a yahoo booter

Postby Zeus » Sat Dec 08, 2007 5:52 pm

A guy I know is considering cracking the paltalk login and making a paltalk booter like we've had for yahoo for years. Anyone willing to pay for a paltalk booter could please just respond here and I will forward the link on to him. The topic was started in this forum http://www.romanware.com/iforum/showthread.php?t=2753 which is one of the more popular yahoo related web sites. The guy considering it is Martin and he is talented enough to do it, he's one of the people who have cracked the different versions of yahoo login. People can make a name in that forum and respond there if they want to get in on it directly.

LOL he sell himself cheap if you ask me.
I doubt if it's gonna be an easy task or can be done at all, it's paltalk not yahoo.
Didn't understand the login crack thing, GAIM has already a plugin that works with paltalk so there's nothing that needs to be cracked.
Also paltalk has a built in booter lol so why bother, and in any case once it's out there it won't take paltalk longer than few days to address it as it's a client/server application and everything MUST go through it's servers, like one already reported they limit whispers for black nicks (i can't verify it)
Not to mention you are risking your green nick if you have one.
Just to give you an idea how easy it's for paltalk to spot such things, try to click your hand up/down several times and see what happens.
It's not that I haven't seen hackers do some cool things on paltalk before, and they were actually nice, but it lasted 30 minutes and then they were gone.

Wow I didnt know GAIM has a plug in working for Paltalk. Thanks I will pass that on. I agree about paltalk being on top of some activity. This could be used against them as well. Seeing how easy it is for someone to crash their own client by raising the hand up and down a few times, I think the actual boot packet would be even more simple than yahoo. Personally I would run it on a separate PC with a separate IP to prevent loss of names.

I can't seem to find the gaim (now called pidgin) plugin for paltalk. Do you know where it can be found ? I've only seen talk of a linux plugin and didn't even find that one yet.

the paltalk plugin for gaim has finished now, the guy who made the protocal wrote a news letter to everyone saying it will no longer be avaliable.

About making a paltalk booter... Like chike said its all done server side, thats all that needs to be said and the yahoo booter programmer will know that also, About the login crack, Well thats been done how else do you think we can apply patches to paltalk with out having the upgrade message come up?

The best I have got so far is enabling the bounce/kick menu items without being an admin in a room but once again paltalk checks server side so its pointless, same as join the room invisable

Obviously you know more about this than most anyone and thanks for the info, I will pass it along. All the yahoo booters run through the yahoo servers as well, I guess they just don't check as well. How about a voice lagger have you tried anything of that nature?

You can also pass on that paltalk does a MD5 intergirty check of the paltalk.exe and some other .dll's, This is very handy to note because unless you send the correct hash to the server you dont stand a chance of loggin in, 2 simple ways around this problem, Do all your patching in memory thus not modifying the paltalk.exe = correct interigrity hash, Other way is to point the check to another file that has'nt been modifyed for example in nice_fox's demostration it would point to an untoched paltalk.exe but looks for paltalk.exd instead of exe, very good and easy to implement..

The hard way around it would be to send a false hash to the server, thus the need to in-line patch a fair bit of code, but the first step would be to check out the packets that are sent from the paltalk client, if you manage to decrypt them hehehe

Good luck with your project and I hope you guys succeed, It would actually be nice to see some yahoo programmers over on paltalk, because from what i have seen there are'nt that many people writting programs for paltalk and never really has been that many...

Thanks for taking the time to help us out Departure. I agree there doesn't seem to be many people writing programs for Paltalk and I'd love to see more.

I understand and wish the programs could remain free as well. I also understand wanting to get paid for the hours that it takes to develop these programs. Another reason people charge for these type of programs is to keep the deployment base limited and therefore hoping to avoid patching of the programs. Thanks for your support and I respect your decision.
