Room Ban

Postby Pat » Mon Jun 25, 2007 1:47 pm

I have read some of the questions here regarding a room ban. It is my understanding that there are no un ban programs that will work to remove a ban from a room. It's not the nic name that is banned, it's the ip address I believe, so surely if there is an anti/unban program it wont work?
However if one is fortunate to have more than one PC then entry into a room on another pc with a different nic would be possible.

Not if it's the IP... You can have as many computers as you want but if it were the IP, they'd all be banned.

Thanks for that. Another question if I may.......a nic name can be added to a ban list of room owner, if another nic name is used rather than the one that has been banned how would that nic be also banned, would this be a case of user id or ip address?

Could be a variety of things. It's usually not the IP because some people have a dynamic IP (Meaning it changes) and they can't guarantee that one user will always have that IP. It could be banned by the HDD serial, something in the registry, video card serial. There's just so many things they could ban.
