Auto Cam Loader

There used to be a great utility that you could add users to…and as they enter they turn their cam on…it would automatically open the cam….I miss that greatly….is there any change of seeing this for 11.2?

Thank you for all you do!

  1. Whell it’s not the program for sure (I don’t have bugs πŸ™‚ )
So today I did an experiment without the program running, been in a room for a while , closed and re-openned, open empty cam window and pal closed immediately.
While I had the dubbuger running yesterday I’ve noticed that every time I right-click the text in the room there is a memory access violation though pal does not crash and the nick is selected in the list, but this shouldn’t happen

  2. Done…btw, I updated to 553…and still getting the program quitting all of a sudden…I can’t nail down that it is cam related….but it does seem to happen more when I have the program running….I will run pal without for a while and see what happens.

  3. I’ve ran the debugger on paltalk and the only thing I got was that all threads and the process exited with code 0x417 which is not a documented error code

  4. I use the regular video strip located at the top of the room….the room is open on the screen. I sometimes have 1 or 2 cams popped out….but not always….keep menu bar visable…floating webcam set to small, floating webcams are auto arranged…..

  5. OK, that seems to work…..I don’t have the issue with the wacky windows focus behaviour…should I add this one to the installer and update it?

Yes you can update the installer.

    for what it’s worth….it is better now….whatever you did….

It simply let activation go as they are, and you will lose roo edit field focus every time a cam open, not what I cal better.
    It’s weird you have issues I don’t.
Is your video strip hidden or visible?
What other settings you have in paltalk, like stay on top or is main window minimized etc.
I need exact scenario so I can try to recreate.

Thank you…I just think it is a very handy utility….was one of my favorites…….so I anxiously await an update πŸ™‚

You and I are probably the only ones ever used it LOL.
I began looking at it and it may be easier to fix than I though, I just need to figure out the HQ cam icon code.

  9. Actually, I had a lot of folks that were friends of mine use it….especially in certain rooms….

    Thank you, greatly appreciate it!

    545 is the final….:)

*sigh* yes I’ve noticed that a minute after I posted LOL
Can we wait to next version? I’m being lazy
I’m afraid I messed up with the code. I’ll see what I can do.

  11. hey that was like Paltalk 9.x or something wasn’t it? I lost it when I redid a computer or something….and never was able to find it, which is why I asked, but it was a GREAT app…..

  12. I will just put a link there to the new download.

You can also add a note, for those who do not know, that the icon can be dragged from the invisible icons area to the tray. to be visible and easy to access.

  13. I got one issue I noticed….windows can not be clicked active, or closed, minimized etc unless you click the title bar and bring focus to it first….only started happening after you changed something with window focus I think. No difference in using the video strip with background refresh, or pop out windows with that option off.

    So far, so good…

    Windows as in, cam indows?
    On what OS?
Are they auto arranged on screen or not?

What it does is not letting other windows be active untill the cam window is activated, unless they have been activated by mouse click.

    I don’t have this issue.

  15. Windows 7 Home Premium and Enterprise….I used to e able to click the X to close a Window…or right click in the window to close it….but now I can’t do anything until I click on the window to activate it…then I can click the x to close it…weird….happens between room and IM windows too…not just cams….do you have version 551? Could be that…

I have hope premiumm 64 bit, versions 551, 552 and 553. never had this problem.
I’ll make pallib.dll without the hook for you to test

Hey, there are at least 3 whole days before Christmas.
Santa may be coming late this year but for sure before new year LOL.

    Happy birthday
    What windows do you have?

EDIT: Okay I have something, try this, report bugs

  19. I don’t know…I loaded distributable for 32 and 64 bit and it worked….if I quit paltalk and restart, I need to disconnect then reconnect to paltalk…it does auto connect to the room and load cams….

If I switch rooms, it doesn’t see it…stays connected to original room….if I disconnect and reconnect it works…so the room detect and automatic connect isn’t working…other than that…so far…so good! Thank you.

Yup, I have a problem with WH_SHELL hook on 64 bit, since it’s a 32 bit application (and must be because paltalk is too)

I may be able to fix the disconnection but detecting new room will take some time.

  21. It was permission issue actually.
Also when a room is first open, it’s title is not as it should be, had to work around that too.

EDIT: BTW I am thinking that the add to favorite cams will also open the cam if not already open… after I had some rest of this LOL

  22. thank youi! also…it appears to work only when the room window is in front and active…not sure it is supposed to work as long as it is connected to a room like some other programs….but just FYI…I will look at the new one.

  23. @Reformed_DJ wrote:

OK, also still getting the msvcr110.dll missing error…I have a couple systems to put this on…can you make it standalone?

    Thank you.

Unfortubately this is not possible with Common Language Runtime (CLR)

  24. @Reformed_DJ wrote:

This how it worked before, and it took some effort too. Don’t want to spam the screen with cams while you busy with something else.
I fixed it to open new cams if the active window is one of the room cams too and not the room window itself.

EDIT: BTW you only need to install the x86 runtime

  25. so far no…I did have it running, and when I launched pal it didn’t load (even though it connected to paltalk and the room)….quite the program, relaunched it…worked like a charm then

  26. @Reformed_DJ wrote:

How you mean didn’t load if it connected?

New named version attached, you will have to rename prefs to PalCamsHelper

  27. ok…so far…so good…but one thought on a previous question….can there be an options…for those of us that use the video strip, to update cames when the window is not active…the only reason I ask…as an admin, I am sometimes in IM’s or checking mail etc…and the chat room window is not active….can there be a check to see if the video strip is active, and if so, load cams no matter what status of the window? does that make sense or more trouble than it is worth…other than that…things are working very well.

    Thank you!

  28. For real, if you are using the cam strip you’re not a pervert to the core.

Oppened cams are not forgotten, they are queued in a list and once you attampt to open all cams in the list, it just takes time.
I have increased the time cams are open from 1 per second to 1 per 2 seconds.

    It’s feasible, but i need a break for a while πŸ™‚

  29. ohh the speed that they open is not an issue….it works just as you designed…..and I only use the video strip for 2 reasons…..the main reason is my laptop screen is too small to have a bunch of open windows…so I can see more cams with the video strip, and make the ones I want to pay attention to pop out :)….

Just FYI….I had the proggie running today…opened up pal, went into the room, and the program connected to pal, then connected to the room then started opening cams….so it worked perfectly.

running the beta 550….it does that…in your paltalk folder should be a debug file if you are running beta…..

    Nope no debug file either.
I suspect it has to do with cams, I saw ither people disapear when cams suddenly close.

  31. If you can make it so it doesn’t rely on that outside library…or put it in an installer that includes that library…I think you have a winner…version 1.0….locohacker I am sure would like to include this in the downloads and/or thePaltalk Programs forum…. and delete all the older versions from this thread…

As I have said, this is not possible, it’s not up to me.
The link to the redistributable runtime is sufficiant, we can attach it too.
This is preffered, as those libraries get updated by Windows Update if needed.

  33. I updated the installer to include a readme and not overwrite config or c++ files if they exist…otherwise it is the same as the one I previously had there…let me know what you think.

  34. This is the installer that I threw together…It installs the application, a default config as well as runs the 2012 C++ distribution install in quiet mode.

THIS IS JUST A TEST..ALTHOUGH TESTED ON MY OWN PC, NO WARRANTIES WHAT SO EVER! πŸ™‚

The installer will be located in the Forum entry https://www.imfiles.com/another-program-by-me-t30975/

Let me know how this works and if any changes need to be made…so far in my testing it works fine.

    ENJOY!

You can simply run the runtime libs installer, it will know what to do.

I made some changes to better handle the cam windows not to hijack the window focus, and some inter communication stuff

  36. Okay, I included this version as well as the 2012 c++ runtime for x86 installer in my installer. That should be it…on testing, it works on my laptop and desktop. Let me know if it works for you.

Thank you for all your work, the app has been working very well for me in my testing.

    Much resepct!

    It works.
BTW there is no need to zip the installer it’s already compressed

Problem is, that I can’t attach an EXE file to the forum…so I zip it. Will update the installer with 1.0 version and post it in the Paltalk Programs Forum. Will leave your latest here as well I guess….

  39. you want to use that thread…or create a new one since some things have changed from your original post? I am just finalizing the installer now and will upload it shortly. I added a note in the readme about the new option for the video strip.

    Thank you!

LOL, I did made some progress then got lazy again.
Busy with android past few days.

  41. Seems that the latest beta breaks this…..11.5 build 565. Any ideas?

    Keep using 564?
LOL mention me if you want a reply because I have no clue otherwise with this junk forums.
I’ll wait till they fix 11.5 bugs.

  42. Bug fixes and few improvements.
The scroll bug will work up to build 602, in case new versions still has it add the following lines with new version # to settings file as below:
    [Misc]
    MaxScrollFixBuild=603
