An expired apology

Summary

At a friend's wedding reception, during a round of boisterous toasts, I was pushed into drinking from intertwined arms with my girlfriend, Chloe.

Her face instantly changed. She threw the wine in my face.

"You're disgusting, Alex! Is this your pathetic way of forcing me to marry you?"

Then she turned and ran after her male secretary, who had stormed out in a huff.

I chased after them, trying to explain, but I was hit by a motorcycle.

I lay in a pool of my own blood, begging her for help.
