Summary
Cold war, day five. I swallowed my pride, heading to Terry Edward’s place to make amends.
My fingerprint stubbornly refused to unlock his door.
Then the door opened, and the girl who had tormented me in high school stood there, wearing his shirt, smiling at me.
Terry lazily emerged from behind her. "Know you messed up?"
My heart utterly broken, I fled the country.
Six months later, at a friend’s engagement party.
Terry scoffed, "Audrey Hayes, you still can’t let go of me, can you?"
I offered a soft smile. "I'm here to deliver my wedding invitation."
