Summary
My childhood friend, Isabelle Nelmes, tells me that she's going to pick me up for dinner on the day that I receive my university acceptance letter.
"Congratulations on getting into Borealin University, Xavier," she says. "I'll be in Borealin too once the semester starts. We can be together again just like when we were kids."
I believe her words and wait for her from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The streetlight outside my rented apartment is broken. I sit on the steps by myself, holding the acceptance letter close to my chest.
Isabelle doesn't show up.
