Summary
I was setting the bowl of iron-rich protein milk—the kind that smelled faintly metallic and never seemed to warm you up—on the kitchen counter for my sister when the blood gushed from my nose.
I grabbed a paper towel and pinched my nostrils shut, bracing myself against the island. But it was too late. The crimson spill had already hit the white tile. And as it did, a strange, electric current of text flashed across my vision.
It was The comments.
“Perfect. Two more bleeds and the side character finally kicks the bucket.”
