Every Date We Planned, She Spent With Her Ex

Summary

Sloane's father had Alzheimer's. Whenever an episode hit, I was the only person he recognized.

Every single time he gripped my hand and refused to let go, Sloane would look at me with eyes full of helpless regret.

"Declan, I already bought the tickets for the amusement park."

"Looks like Harper is going to get lucky and take my spot again."

I looked down at my hand trapped in her father's wrinkled grip, letting out a soft sigh.

Every time Sloane and I planned a date, Jacob would suffer an episode.
