Summary

At the welcome-back dinner for my best friend, someone suggested a drinking game: "Who Can Tell the Most Outrageous Lie?"

To score an easy laugh, I pointed across the table at my fiancée, Elena, and my best friend, Devon.

"Truth is," I announced, "those two have been sleeping together behind my back."

The table went dead silent for a beat, and then erupted into raucous laughter.

"Jeremy, you lose!" someone shouted over the clinking glasses. "Elena and Devon have been an item for years. Everyone knows that."
