Summary

The spiritual medium said that my brother, who had been missing for ten years before being brought home, was deeply traumatized—his soul fractured.

He needed my memories as fuel for the ritual candles.

Only by draining them every day for forty-nine days straight could his spirit finally be anchored.

The first time my memories were extracted, I forgot that I was lethally allergic to shellfish. I ate a prawn my older sister placed in my bowl, suffered anaphylactic shock, and ended up in the ICU.
