He Sacrificed Our Daughter For Her

Summary

I had just walked out of the courthouse, the ink on my divorce decree barely dry.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed. Someone had tagged my ex-husband in our old college group chat.

"Congrats, Elwin! You're a dad!"

I froze, my mind struggling to process the words.

Then, Joyce’s profile picture flashed on my screen.

"Thank you, everyone. It’s a baby girl."

I stared at the screen, my mind going completely blank.

I tapped on her profile. Her pinned post was a photo of a freshly signed marriage license against a velvet red backdrop.
