Summary
I took a knife for him. It pierced my stomach, stealing our unborn child and my ability to ever have another.
He knelt at my side, his eyes bloodshot as he swore, "I don't need any other children, Elara. I only need you!"
And I believed him.
Until the seventh year of our marriage, when I watched him lovingly cradle a six-year-old boy who was the spitting image of him. A boy he told to "be good for Mommy."
That's when I realized our epic love story was nothing but a lie. A walking, talking joke.
He brought his mistress and their son into our home, claiming the boy was an orphan.
