I Canceled My Own Funeral

Summary

My life was down to a ticking clock, so I bought a one-way ticket to Morocco to finish the Sahara expedition Gideon Wells and I had promised each other back when we were still madly in love.

On my first day, I barely managed to drag myself through the local bazaar before my body caved. Exhausted, hollowed out by pain, I retreated early to my hotel room.

Curled in bed, I unlocked my phone and opened my feed. The top video hit me like a slap to the face: Gideon, standing beneath a canopy of desert stars, down on one knee proposing to Mallory King—my best friend from college.
