Summary
After I started college, my mother announced that she would be giving me my living expenses in installments.
"Hank, you're grown up now. To teach you how to manage your money, I've decided to give you your living expenses in installments."
At first, I assumed she meant she would send my allowance once a month. At worst, maybe once a week.
But on the day I checked in, she walked around the cafeteria, then transferred $6.80 to my bank account.
I stared at her in confusion. "Mom, you sent the wrong amount."
