Summary
On my wedding day, my sister Summer—who had a severe stutter and crippling anxiety—challenged me to a debate.
"I love Ryan too, Sadie. I’m sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Before I could even open my mouth, my parents answered for me.
I looked at them, then turned my gaze to the man I had loved for eight years. My fiancé.
"Do you really think I should do this?" I asked him.
Ryan frowned, nodding as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "She overcame her anxiety just to stand here and ask for this, Sadie. I can’t let her down."
