Summary
I used the inheritance my father left me to buy an apartment. My boyfriend, a designer by trade, handled the renovations.
It was only after I moved in that I discovered he had registered all three of his childhood friends for permanent fingerprint access. I was the legal owner, and all I had was a temporary passcode.
He said, "We all grew up together. They're practically family."
Before long, my study had been converted into a livestream studio for one of them. The terrace was covered in their belongings, and the entryway held four matching pairs of house slippers. None of them were mine.
