Summary
Every Father’s Day, my husband’s old college flame, Caitlin, found a new emergency to lure him away.
This year was no exception. He glanced at his phone, his face instantly tightening, and stood up from the dinner table.
"Caitlin says Toby won't stop crying," Patrick said, already grabbing his coat. "She’s overwhelmed and can't calm him down. I need to go talk to him."
"She doesn't know how to cook, so I'm going to pack up the dinner you made and take it over. You and Lucy can just order takeout."
