Summary
Ever since she was a little girl, my sister Sadie was the undisputed princess of fragile things.
At twenty-four, she still couldn’t twist open a plastic bottle of water. She would just stand there, holding it out to me with wide, helpless eyes until I took it from her. She never left the apartment without a cloud of expensive floral mist drifting behind her; her nails were permanently sculpted into gleaming, translucent works of art, and her tiny leather purse was an overflowing dispensary of tinted balms and gold-rimmed compact mirrors.
My wife, Sabrina, utterly despised her.
