Summary
In the two years since my son was born, the intimacy between my husband and me completely evaporated.
He used to be insatiable, constantly finding excuses to pull me into his arms. Now, even when I initiated the softest touch, he would subtly brush me off.
Every time I swallowed my pride to close the distance, he would use the exact same gentle, apologetic tone. "Work is just suffocating me right now, Val."
I actually believed him. I thought the corporate grind was breaking his back, draining him of any leftover energy.
