My Secret Blown During the Teacher’s Visit

Summary

I’m a stay-at-home dad.

I had no idea the teacher’s home visit was being livestreamed to the entire school community, a camera pinned discreetly to her collar.

The lens panned across our living room, a space where every available inch of wall was a shrine to the nation's sweetheart, Catherine Shaw—autographed photos, posters, and magazine covers.

The teacher and the top student’s mother exchanged a look of cold disdain. "So, you're a Catherine Shaw fan?"

"Catherine Shaw," I said, "is my wife."

The live chat immediately blew up.
