Summary
It had been ten years with Daniel, and for the first time, he baked me a birthday cake with his own hands.
I took a bite, my heart swelling with joy, only for my skin to erupt in red, angry hives. My throat started to close.
Vicky, watching me, clapped her hands and burst out laughing. “So Daniel was right! Some people really are allergic to cheap, artificial cream!”
I begged Daniel to take me to the hospital.
He just stared at me, his face cold. “An allergic reaction? It’s not that serious. Are you just trying to scare Vicky?”
