Summary
I lay on the birthing bed, contractions tightening, one after another.
My husband, Liam Clarke, held my hand, his gaze so gentle it could melt.
“Just a little longer, Eleanor, we’ll see our baby soon.”
Sweat drenched me from the pain, yet I managed a small smile for him.
It wasn't until the nurse walked in with a syringe that I thought it was the epidural for pain relief.
But Liam suddenly released my hand, stepping back.
The moment the needle pierced my skin, I heard Liam say:
“Adjust the dosage carefully. She must not go into full labor until Ophelia has delivered.”
