Summary
On the morning we were supposed to sign our marriage license at City Hall, Justin’s friends gathered on the limestone steps outside, laughing as they pitched a game: "The Pre-Wedding Bride Evaluation."
I thought it was just one of their typically tasteless jokes.
Then the dry-erase scorecard was passed to me. Written across the header in bold marker was the name of his ex-girlfriend, Alyssa.
