Summary
As I was mopping the floor, my husband, Leo, walked by and scoffed.
“Look at you. This is your life now.”
I froze. “What did you just say? I’m up at six every morning cooking and cleaning. I handle the school runs, take care of the elders, and help with homework until midnight. What gives you the right to say that to me?”
My son, Finn, pouted. “You take good care of us, I guess, but you’re nothing like Aunt Mia.”
Mia. My own sister. She’d recently returned from abroad and treated us to one dinner, and they hadn’t stopped talking about it since.
