Summary
My parents blocked the university gates with a two-month-old infant in their arms. The moment they saw me, they demanded I take the baby home and sign the paperwork to become her legal mother.
"Having a baby in college won't ruin your life, but your sister is marrying into old money. She can't have a stain on her record."
I refused. "Whoever gave birth to her, raises her."
They chased me all the way to my classroom, cursing me for being an unwed mother who abandoned her child.
