Summary
I returned from a three-day business trip just as the weekend was winding down, only to be greeted by a disaster. The moment I stepped into the foyer, I smelled it—dampness and standing water. The bathroom was a lake; the floor drain was completely backed up.
To make matters worse, the sink was just as bad. The water sat there, stagnant and gray, refusing to budge even an inch.
At the time, I figured it was just Lydia’s hair. She has long, thick chestnut waves that tend to find their way into every crevice of our lives. I called a 24-hour plumber and settled in to wait.
