Summary

At my own birthday party, I was made to wear the late lady of the house’s sapphire necklace.

The moment my ten-year-old son saw it, he shoved me down the stairs.

He glared down at me, his eyes burning with hate, and ordered the butler to take the necklace from me.

“I knew you were up to no good! You pretend to be so gentle and kind, but you’ve always wanted to replace my mother!”

“Just wait until Dad gets home! I’ll make him throw you out!”

Warm blood trickled from my forehead, a stark contrast to the ice forming around my heart. I looked at the child I had cared for for a decade.
