Summary
I have always been the type to take people at their word. In fact, I've never been good at reading between the lines.
Back in middle school, a girl deliberately slipped a cheat sheet into my hand. "Hold this for me. The teacher's coming," she whispers.
She probably expects me to panic and stuff it into my pocket.
Instead, I raise my hand. "This belongs to her. She just put it in my hand," I declare.
Years later, after I start working, a new manager begins auditing the accounts.
