Summary
I’ve always had a terrible sense of direction. It took Jackie six years to teach me how to navigate the world.
Every summer, he’d drag me through the winding streets of Boston, making me memorize every brick and cobblestone of Beacon Hill and the North End.
When I got lost, he’d laugh, affectionately rapping his knuckles against my forehead. "If you can't even find your way home, what am I going to do with you later in life?"
Eventually, I memorized every turn. My sense of direction became flawless.
