Summary
When I received my $1,000 year-end bonus, I was having dinner with the heads of the company's 120 most important partners.
When they learned that I, the person providing all services to them, only got this much, the atmosphere at the table became very subtle.
Meanwhile, my colleagues were flooding the group chat with excitement over their $20,000 bonuses.
I finished that meal calmly.
Seven days later, my contract expired, and I left gracefully.
My boss's wailing almost burst through the phone: "Why! Why did they all pull their investments!"
