Summary
My husband’s phone lit up while we were eating dinner. I glanced over.
“Your property management fee of $1,500 for this month is due. Please pay at your earliest convenience.”
His name was clearly listed under the homeowner section.
My fingers turned ice cold as I clutched the phone.
I suddenly remembered how he’d been complaining about a pay cut and working late constantly, often not getting home until late at night.
When I’d asked him about it, he’d just said, “It’s tough to find a job right now. We can’t be spending recklessly. We need to be frugal and manage the household budget.”
