Summary
"Natalie, we’re done."
Tyler leaned back in the leather booth of the upscale downtown café, stretching his arms across the shoulders of two giggling women draped on either side of him. He crossed his legs, the toe of his designer loafer swinging with lazy arrogance, and looked at me with open disgust.
"Let’s be real," he said, tapping a manicured finger against the marble tabletop. "You’re just not sharp enough to keep up with me anymore. You don't fit where I’m going."
My hands gripped the edge of the table. Every nerve in my body flared with genuine, blistering rage.
