Summary
Three years after we broke up, I ran into Ethan cross at the airport.
For a split second, he looked dazed. "Nora, do you still blame me? I know I didn't represent your dad in that case... and after he lost, the heart attack took him..."
I shook my head.
Back then, I had dropped to my knees and begged him to take my dad's case. He had agreed.
But the day before the trial, he listened to his junior associate. "Ethan, you have to stick to your principles," she told him.
He disappeared without a word, leaving me with a single text message.
