Summary
After his first love died, Duke Cassian despised me for ten years.
I tried everything to earn his affection, but he would only sneer. “If you truly wish to please me, Eleonora, you should die.”
The words were a dagger in my heart. Yet, when the burning rafters of our manor collapsed, he died saving me.
As he lay dying in my arms, he used his last ounce of strength to push my hand away.
