Summary
My roommate hid her pregnancy in our dorm, claiming her family was too poor to know. I cared for her while urging her to avoid bearing a child out of wedlock and to leave her aggressive boyfriend. Instead, she ran to him, twisting my words. She told him I wanted her to dump him and get rid of their baby.
After she lost the child, they lured me to the quiet woods behind campus. Her boyfriend drove a knife through my throat, snarling that no one came between them. He raged about my perfect family, my looks, my money, calling me a whore who deserved to rot. My soul hovered as my roommate stabbed my body until it was shredded, then ordered him to dismember and bury me. Every kindness I had shown was a humiliation she had nurtured into pure rot.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the moment she burst from our dorm bathroom, panicked and shaking. This time, I would make her choke on her own malice.
