Summary
The eighteenth time Damon Montgomery and I attempted to divorce, he failed to show up again.
I stood outside the Registry Office, the same place it had always been, and received the customary text message.
Emergency. Reschedule.
I stared blankly at the red-highlighted countdown on my phone, the remaining days until we could file again. I simply couldn't afford to waste any more time on this disastrous marriage.
After a long moment, I pulled up the messaging app and calmly typed a few lines.
She’s pregnant again, isn’t she?
Damon, for the sake of your two children, just let me go.
