Summary
When I finally found Vicky, she was leaning against the cold iron railing of the harbor bridge, her dark hair whipped wildly across her face by the autumn wind.
A cluster of empty beer bottles lay clinking softly at her feet.
I pulled my coat tighter and sighed. "The doctor was very clear, Vicky. You can’t be drinking."
She didn't look at me. Her eyes, bloodshot and heavy with liquor, stayed fixed on the dark, shimmering water below.
"I went to Adrian’s office today," she said, her voice barely carrying over the wind.
