Summary
My husband replaced the child I bore after a difficult labor with my sister’s.
He simply uttered, dismissively, “If her posthumous child were a boy, it would be easier for her in her in-laws’ family.”
When my sister posted a photo of my husband and my child on social media, I merely typed a single question mark in the comments.
My husband immediately called, his voice laced with blame, “It’s just a child swap, do you have to make everyone miserable?!”
My mother thrust my sister’s baby against my chest, demanding, “How could you be so heartless? Not even feeding the child!”
