Summary
"Mom, you’ve spent this entire marriage walking on eggshells. Get a divorce. I’ll take care of you from now on."
My mother fell silent for a long time. Finally, she decided to give my father one last chance.
"If he buys me a bouquet of flowers for International Women's Day this year, instead of his usual logic, I’ll drop it. I’ll keep the peace and stay with him."
I could see she still held onto a sliver of hope.
Not wanting to see her disappointed, I bombarded my dad with texts every day, reminding him to buy flowers.
He promised he would.
