Summary
I was born with a naturally high-pitched, sweet voice. To many, I sounded incredibly fake and overly precious.
My childhood friend, Liam, loved to mock me for it.
He jokingly referred to me to the whole class as his "little delicate trophy wife."
A classmate mimicked my voice, exaggerating the pitch: "Oh, little squeaker, Liam doesn't actually like girls who act this fake."
I shook my head. "I'm not trying to be anything for anyone. This is just how my voice sounds."
"Why are you trying to force me to change who I am?"
Her face froze, her mouth opening to argue.
