Summary
The night before my grandmother’s heart surgery, I dragged my adoptive father into his study to go over a new medical breakthrough I’d been researching.
I did this because, in my past life, when Grandmother’s heart failed, the "real" heiress—my sister, returned to the family—demanded to take over as lead surgeon. She wanted to perform the heart transplant herself.
Knowing she had only completed three years of nursing school before dropping out, I refused.
She took my refusal as an insult.
To prove herself, she impersonated me, scrubbed in, and performed the surgery.
