Summary
When I returned to the US to handle the real estate my father left behind, I found that all the door locks had been changed.
I called the property management, only to be told: "This house has been sold. The owner's daughter came in person to handle it."
I stood there stunned: "I just got off the plane. I haven't been back in the country for five years."
My dad only has one child, me.
How is that possible?
But the man was absolutely certain: "I processed the paperwork myself. There's no mistake."
He pulled out his phone: "Here, I even have a picture of her."
