Summary
Alex's desk was overflowing with love letters again.
He pulled out his phone and sent me twenty dollars, just like he always did.
"Hey, do me a favor and toss these?"
I nodded quietly.
That evening, I stood in the dim stairwell, gathering the envelopes to throw into the recycling bin. Right at the bottom of the pile, my eyes caught a soft pink envelope.
The signature belonged to the girl Alex secretly liked.
