Summary
After my mother slapped me twice across the face for using one extra sanitary pad, I swore on my life that I would never be poor again.
So, when I secured a wealthy benefactor—Julian Vance—I used every trick in the book to chase away all the other little birds in his golden cage.
Everyone thought I was going to be the future Mrs. Vance. At parties, people would even tease me:
"I heard Julian dropped an absolute fortune on a flawless diamond ring at the auction last night."
The next second, that very ring, bursting with blinding fire, was gently slipped onto my finger by Julian himself.
