Summary
I came home late after working overtime on Valentine's Day, only to find that the succulent Brooke and I had planted together three years ago was dead.
She used to say it symbolized our love.
Low maintenance.
It didn't need much care to thrive.
I knelt on the balcony, staring at the shriveled, blackened green leaves. Suddenly, I felt an urge to take a photo and send it to her.
I tapped send. A bright red exclamation mark popped up on my screen.
