Summary
I grew up in the suffocating shadow of my older sister.
Whenever I caught the flu, my parents would scoff: "Kaitlyn never missed a day of school when she was your age."
When my grades slipped, the refrain was instant: "Kaitlyn took the exact same AP track and graduated top of her class every single year."
And when I broke down, sobbing that I was exhausted and just needed to breathe, they shut me down: "Kaitlyn ran on four hours of sleep her entire senior year. What right do you have to complain?"
Then the headaches started.
