Summary
The third time my childhood friend brought up the scholarship student, I laughed and teased him.
“You think she has a crush on you?”
His expression turned serious. “Merrin,” he said, his voice firm, “don’t joke like that. She’s not like us. You should never look down on someone who works hard.”
I stuck my tongue out, a lump forming in my throat.
In the end, the two of them went to the best music conservatory in the country together.
And I? I threw away my violin, moved to another continent, and switched my major to finance.
