Summary

For the fifth year of our secret relationship, Diego Barrett went on a blind date behind my back.

I happened to catch him in the act. My gaze lingered on him for only a heartbeat before I looked away as though nothing had happened.

A moment later, a text from Diego appeared.

[My mom set this up. You know how she is. If I'd turned her down, she would've nagged me for days.]

I watched the "typing..." indicator flicker beneath his name. Then I smiled and replied with my usual patience.
